Turn it down

Turn it down

Maybe I am getting old, maybe I am just sensitive to noise or maybe I just need to get our more but what it is with the volume of music in clubs these days? After a night out with a group of students dressed up as garden gnomes last night, a nasty hangover and a few embarrassing photos is the least of my worries. I actually think I have noise induced hearing loss.

We had a great time, no complaints there. We drank shots from the breasts of a German beer maid, we swam around the city fountain and we went fishing in a drain with a tin can attached to a piece of string. All was well between places but inside, my dear god, we could not hear a thing we tried to say to each other. We tried shouting, sign language and in the end resorted to texting each other just so we knew what to order at the bar for out next drinks.

All I’m trying to say, bar owners and DJ’s of the world is; turn the music down a bit. Having a night out with all of my zany mates is about having a laugh with each other, sharing jokes and taking the piss right out of each. Unfortunately, there is no piss taking to be done when the music is turned up so loud that I can’t hear myself think never mind speak.

There’s really not that much fun in texting someone who is standing right next to you and you just end up looking like one of those losers who updates his Facebook status telling everyone he’s having a toppa night.
