Say Goodbye To The Chocolate Fiend
When I was growing up, I must confess that I was a bit of a chocolate monster/ Actually I was more than a bit of a chocolate monster…I was seriously out of control, like an animal that just did stuff because it felt like it. Whenever I was near chocolate I was overcome by an intense urge to pick it up and scoff it, and nothing anyone could say to me could possibly stop me from launching an assault at absolutely any time. I once even did it in a shop with the wrapper on, and my mum tried to wrench my jaws open to pull it out but she couldn’t because, like a dog, I had already eaten it! Including the paper!
Things peaked at an all-time low when I was sixteen and I went through this Incredible Hulk like period of needing chocolate all the time. Then, weirdly, one day it all just stopped. To this day I don’t know what happened with that. Who knows, perhaps medical science will one day have an answer for me? Until then I’ll just have to learn to live with the memories…
The thing is, even though I am no longer an addict, I do sometimes still fall off the wagon. So for this reason I recently stopped eating chocolate completely. It’s been two months now and I haven’t had anything with cocoa in it, not even hot chocolate!
And it’s working wonders, you know: I get less headaches, have more energy, and generally have better skin. Not surprising really, considering all the chemicals and stuff in chocolate, but still, I’ve been quite impressed. Even the girl in my local apple mac repair london said she’d noticed a difference, and that was something: her glasses are about an inch thick!
